2012-12-28 "Advanced Methods" (UTiCS Vol. 3) completed

After many delays, the announced follow-up book "Principles of Digital Image Processing — Advanced Methods" (Volume 3 of the UTiCS series) has finally been completed. The manuscript now goes through copy-editing and should be available in Spring 2013. Read more ...

2010-09-01 Source code update (Harris Corner Detector)

Java source code for the Harris corner detector (Ch. 8 in the English and German editions) has been updated. The final corner cleanup step can now be turned off.

2010-08-01 Source code update (Binary Regions)

Java source code for binary regions processing (Ch. 11 in the English and German editions) has been updated. In perticular, the combined contour-tracer/region-labeler (plugin Trace_Contours.java) now contains an example for calculating region moments.

2010-06-06 Chinese edition published

The English edition of Digital ImageProcessing - An Algorithmic Introduction Using Java was recently translated to Chinese and published by Tsinghua University Press under a license from Springer-Verlag. This edition is currently only available in the People's Republic of China.
